Post  PSCCanada on Tue Jun 07, 2011 1:26 am

How many of us here have an ACTUAL Go Bag/Emergancy Prepareness Bag? What do you have in yours?
I believe with all the natural disasters that there currently have been lately this is a great thing to have. Share your thoughts on whats in your kit.

If anybody has questions(Or would like to know whats in it) on my kit/s please let me know
Smile

I have a couple. Not true bug out bags, more like a get home bag type of setup. Both have items in them that are geared toward stuff I'd find around the city and not so much as wooded areas/desert. I have seperate bags that fill that gap when I head out. Each have a nice sized first aid kit that can handle up to a gun shot wound and an advanced airway (all that I've been trained on). I'll get some photos up in a few.

I have a rather elaborate bailout plan (backups upon backups) in case of FEMA attack, arrest warrant, zombies, etc. so I set my bags up to allow me to reach my first cache or fighting position, allowing for one or two major delays enroute.

I have several kits ... And when I say several I mean it. However I will list off my Universal Kit:

2 Pairs of EMT Emergancy Sheers
1 Shemagh
4 Mayday Drinking Waters
After Bite Bug Spray
2 25 Gram Quick Clots
1 50 Gram Quick Clot
1 Quick Clot ACS+ Sponge
GI Spec First Aid Kit-- Plus/ 1 MOLLE EMT Pouch w/ First Aid Kit (Smaller Version)
D Climbing Carabiner
1 Roll of Camo Form
Pelican 7060 Flashlight
2 Inova T3 Flashlights
2 HeatSheet Survival Blanket
3 MRE Food Rations
550 Paracord
8 Safety-Light Glow Sticks
2 Storm All weather Safety Whistles
Complete Universal Surgical Kit
2 Thunder Gernade Flashbangs (Not the real deal however they put out like 120 DB so in a oh shit moment it could help)
3 Blood Type Key Tags assorted across gear
BlackHawk Harness
CAMO Spray Paint
Benchmade Rescue tool thingy
Along with a Condor Chest Rig/Plate Carrier loaded out.

Please note I am going off of what I remember putting in the bag and this is not a comprehensive list of the equipment. This is my Universal Kit that I can do a grab and go and last a good 72 hours. As I also do Search and Rescue I have kits that are designed for different sit.

Also included in these kit is different clothing (Socks/Underwear/Shirt/Pant/Rain Gear). However I dont think its nes. that I list the brands and styles.

As I just came back from a Search/Rescue Event I am waiting for new equipment from OPSGEAR (Great company/Staff), Quartermaster, and MD Charlton.

I know I am forgetting a bunch of equipment however its not my fault lol when your a gear whore like me you lose track of your shit.
Any questions agian forward them to me

One thing I see a a lot of people leave out of their BoB is a tender box or something of the sort. I met some guys while hiking in South Cumberland State Park last winter that had, what I think is brilliant, some home made fire starters. They had taken dryer lint and pulled it apart so it was just a fuzzy mess, melted it in with some gulf wax, then poured that mixture into a shallow cooking pan lined with wax paper. When it had cooled it was then cut into about 1 inch cubes. We ended up sleeping in a shelter that night and the next morning most of our wood was frozen. No one wanted to split wood let alone get out of there bunk (me out of my hammock from the rafters) but those home made fire starters really got the fire going quick considering all our tender was frozen. I would just make sure if you do make these, melt the wax on LOW heat you dont want a kitchen fire and store them in at least a plastic zip lock, no one wants melted wax all inside there pack. This goes without saying but I woudnt keep them in your BoB if keep it in your car, especially during the summer.
