Grey Ghost Gear Lightweight Assault Pack
One of the most common questions I get are from people looking for a good pack. The GGG Lightweight Assault Pack is a fantastic choice for someone in the small to medium pack market. Small, affordable and packed with features.
Notable features:
-$99

-Stowable shoulder straps
-Attaches to most plate carrier and vests
-Available in Coyote Brown, Multicam, Kryptek Typhon, Kryptek Mandrake, Kryptek Highlander, Pencott Badlands, Pencott Greenzone
-Hydration port and exterior sleeve

GGG lightweight assault pack, on the right we have the Multicam "Litelok" and on the left is the Kryptek Highlander
GGG has been using the woven style Multicam webbing for sometime now. I will admit I wasn't a big fan initially but it has grown on me. It's not printed like standard webbing and much more durable. On a side note I would like to see full bartacks vs their method (cost difference)
Nice big handle, no fuss
These top side clips are there so you can attach this pack to a vest or carrier. More on this later
I like how they put the hydration sleeve on the outside. Just in case of leaking, all your crap won't get soaked
Cable passthrough, a bit odd since the hydration pocket is on the back, either way, you still could run a bladder on the inside. Options are nice
Rear of the pack, complete with sternum strap. If you've ever rucked or been on long trips you'll appreciate them
They are removable and adjustable. Also note the d-rings
Woven Multicam webbing
Side pass through is there so you can stash the bottom straps when attaching this pack to a vest
This side buckle is here to attach to a vest, again, more on this later
Side profile shot of the pack. Note the MOLLE down below. Great for attaching a water bottle pouch, etc.
Front pocket is accessible from both sides. Big enough to accommodate a tablet, etc.
Inside of the pack, plenty of space for all your essentials. This pack has a small overall profile but surprisingly fits a lot of stuff
Inside out shot of the pack. You get these handy side pockets, great for the smaller items that may get lost otherwise
Another inside out shot of the pack. This is the back. The hydration bladder compartment expands into the main pack just slightly to accommodate for bigger bladders
With the backpack straps stowed away now comes the transformation. You get a set of side clips that allows this pack to attach to a vest. Bottom ones via MOLLE clip and top via MALICE clip
And VOILA
At $99 bucks this is an awesome pack. The fact that you can attach it to another piece of gear makes it even more versatile. No matter how much gear you have, this is an absolute must have.
Pros:
-Light
-Available in a bazillion colors
-Attaches to other vests
-$99 bucks
-Great size
Cons:
-Would like to see some heavier duty bartacks
