Grey Ghost Gear Rig Light Jacket
Grey Ghost Gear has has once expanded their catalog, this time to include a new jacket that they collaborated with Beyond Clothing on. Upon it's release I was eager to get my hands on one. We previously reviewed their initial 2 soft shell offerings and were very impressed with what we got. This time however they chose to go with a zip up versus a pullover.

-Left zippered chest pocket
-Low profile lightweight ripstop nylon hood zips into collar

Out of the packaging I was already pretty blown away by the Rig Light. Beautifully designed and presented
As mentioned above this jacket was a collaboration between Grey Ghost Gear and Beyond Clothing. The collab label is a nice touch
Having a lot of shell jackets I can definitely appreciate the normal hand pockets vs giant breast pockets, gives the jacket a more everyday feel. Also notice the bottom tapered trim
I like the combination of both hand pockets and a single breast pocket, again, more utility for an everyday jacket
The Rig Light has a stow-able hood. I like the option of a hood but don't always want a big thick hood. This is a nice combination. More on the hood later
Loop on the sides for morale patches. I like the rounded corners, nice touch. The arm pockets are also plenty large for most accessories
Beyond Clothing label, "Stitched in the States"
Hood can be adjusted via subtle chords
YKK zippers, "small parts, big difference." I also like the logo'd pulls
Adjustable cuffs are tapered, gives it a nice look
The light ripstop hood is LIGHT, compact and very soft. Gives you just what you need and isn't overwhelming when you don't
Interior jacket tag. MADE IN THE USA
The jacket is athletic fit or "fitted." I personally do not like baggy clothing but with that being said if you plan on wearing this jacket as a layered garment then you should size up. If you also like to wear your clothing loose, size up. This is a size medium jacket on a medium build male around 6'1 190lbs
The Grey Ghost Rig Light is a great choice if you're looking for an everyday, compact-able and durable jacket. It also makes a great layering jacket (see size recommendations above). Quite simply well designed and built. Something you'd expect from both Grey Ghost Gear and Beyond Clothing.
Pros:
-Made in the USA
-Lightweight and stow-able hood
-Both hand and chest pockets
-Stretch material and fitted cut hugs your body amazingly well
-Premium materials and stitchwork
-$250 pricetag is a great value for a premium shell
Cons:
-Some may not like the fitted cut. If you're one of these people, just size up
